Dr. Maheshwari has many accolades to his name and is a recipient of eminent recognitions including the prestigious President's Police Medal for Distinguished Service, Police Medal for Gallantry and Police Medal for Meritorious Service. As the Head of CRPF, he was also felicitated by the President of India on behalf of ECI for excellence in security management. President’s Medal for Distinguished Service

This was to recognise the valor of the operational team which neutralised the fidayeen attack in Srinagar saving several innocent lives & minimizing the collateral damage.

Antrik Suraksha Padak
The Antrik Suraksha Padak (Internal Security Service Medal) honors police and security personnel for their operational service in internal security duties across areas affected by insurgency and extremism, including Jammu & Kashmir, the North-East, and LWE (Left-Wing Extremism) regions.
